Ingredients

  • 3 lb fish filets or whole fish of choice
  • 2 tbsp fresh lemon juice
  • 1 tbsp ginger or garlic paste (or garlic powder)
  • 3 tbsp Machli Masala
  • A few tablespoons of water to mix the Machli Masala
  • Spray oil for baking
  • 2 tbsp canola oil to grease the baking pan
  • Fresh lemon slices for garnish
  • ¼ cup chopped cilantro for garnish

Directions

  1. Wash and pat dry the fish.
  2. Make a paste with the lemon juice and water (the paste should be slightly liquidy).
  3. Apply the paste evenly to the fish.
  4. Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C).
  5. Grease the baking pan with oil.
  6. Lay the marinated fish in the pan and spray with additional spray oil.
  7. Set the fish aside for 15 minutes.
  8. Once the oven is ready, bake the fish for 15-20 minutes on each side until it is cooked through and almost dry.
  9. Garnish with lemon slices and cilantro.
